I saw this on AMC yesterday. I was expecting a bad sci-fi movie with a scantily clad Jane Fonda in it. Which I suppose it was, but it was so much more than that.
This was so bad that it was like a porn movie without any sex in it. Jane Fonda is not a strong actress, but actually stood out in the cast -- and not because she was half naked. There is some god-awful acting in this movie, some effects that are laughable even by original-Star-Trek standards, and the whole thing is couched in hippy-dippy 60s pacifism (except when it's necessary to the plot to pick up guns and shoot people, of course).
A bad, bad, bad, bad movie. And I'm not sure if it was edited for AMC or what, but did not contain nearly enough nudity to justify the damage it's done to my brain.
Jane Fonda would go on the following year to star in another appearance, this time with the North Vietnamese.
