He has eyebrows!!! That is so cool!

He's an awesome cat. He's going white around the eyes a bit. He'll be 12 in January I think.

They are both very spoiled. That little shelf has a heating pad inside it, so it's one of their favorite spots to sleep. Usually when I get up in the morning I'll find one or both of them on it, then they sneak in the bedroom and lay on the bed for a few hours. (I don't let them in there when I'm sleeping because they wake me up walking on me.)

Hard to say what he's looking at. There might have been a rabbit hopping around, we've got lots of them. He doesn't seem interested in catching any, but he likes to watch them hop.

It's so cute how the little one has wedged herself behind Milo.

Yeah she loves to get up there with him. She likes warm places, and Milo throws out a lot of heat. She can only do it when he's all sleepy and groggy though, otherwise he turns around and bites her. :)

I love him!

The girls who watch him while we are out of town have a picture of him on their refrigerator.

Milo is quite old...

He's getting old, yeah. And it seems like just yesterday I picked him up from the shelter too.

wow he's cute

He's about the sweetest cat in the world, too. He'll let me carry him around, even outside, and if something scares him he tucks his head under my chin.

Because I am invincible, you know.

That is so cute! When Domino gets scared, she jumps about 2 feet high and a bit backward. Last night, she ended up falling in between my computer desk and filing cabinet, where I keep the wire mesh lids to the rat cages. She was stuck in between the two lids. It took a while to get her un-wedged.

This morning, she seemed curious about the garbage truck, so I picked her up and took her to look out the second story window at the truck coming down the street. Everything was fine, until they got to the next door neighbor's house and the truck arm came out and picked up the yard debris can. She was having none of it. She scratched me up pretty good on my arm and chest while trying to get traction to jump. Poor thing...

Oh if he gets REALLY freaked out he'll try to launch himself, but generally the only things that scare him that much are

1) dogs
2) vacuum cleaners
3) the UPS guy (who he is convinced is trying to take him away in that brown truck, I think)

Domino hasn't come across a dog yet, but she is terrified of the vacuum, doesn't like garbage trucks and isn't too fond of the doorbell.

We had a LOT of trouble with dogs the first few years we moved here. There's a leash law where we live, but you'd never know it.

I fenced part of the yard in for Milo to run around in, so now the dogs (and coyotes) can't get near him. He is too lazy to jump over the fence, as long as we don't put anything near it for him to hop up on first.

I remember having a cat that looked simular to Milo here. Is he a red tabby? or is it orange, can't remember. Ours was a big cat but very loveable.
jvon wrote on Oct 26, '07
He's definitely big... he's pushing 20 pounds. And quite orange except where he's going white from age.

Gives new meaning to the term, "Scaredy Cat".
